Getting Ready for Preschool and Kindergarten

Getting Ready for Preschool and Kindergarten

This link, from Fox News, provides parents with tips for preparing their child for preschool and kindergarten. Being prepared for preschool and kindergarten is necessary and important. Preschool and kindergarten sets the foundation for learning. Children begin to learn their name, words and what they mean, how to read, numbers and what they represent, and basic social skills. In order for a child to develop these skills properly and to the fullest extent, teachers must be patient, prepared, and knowledgeable in child development. If children enter into preschool and kindergarten with basic knowledge of these skills, they are more likely to succeed in preschool and kindergarten and adjust to the new environment with little effort. Children who do not have prior knowledge of certain skills may have trouble adjusting to the environment and may struggle with certain skills.
